Rookie pitcher Cole Hamels felt so healthy and sharp pitching a simulated game Monday that he “hoped to God†he wouldn’t be forced to make a minor-league rehab start.
A few minutes later, the Phillies decided he will pitch Thursday at Class A Lakewood before returning from a left shoulder strain.
